“Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our
image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the
birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the
creatures that move along the ground.” So God created mankind
in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and
female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and
increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea
and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the
ground” (Gen 1:26-28).
Work is a timeless
responsibility God gave man. Both before the fall of man and after his fall,
God instructed him to work. However, there is a difference between the nature
and results of those two instructions about work in Gen 2:15 and Gen 3:19.
Before man sinned work in Gen 2:15 was about Dominion and fulfillment of
Purpose, but after man sinned work in Gen 3:19 was about survival. After
they were banished from Eden (the presence of God) they lost the empowerment
and direction of God. God is a God of Purpose and Plan. Everyone is born with a
purpose and as we grow physically and spiritually, we become enlightened about
our destinies in the form of ideas, dreams and aspirations.
However, like the seed
that fell among thorns in Matthew 13; as time goes on, “the worries of
this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful”
(Mat 13:22). Many reading this devotional have forgotten about those dreams God
planted in their lives, that were so real and tangible to them at one point in
life. Today, may you dream again. May you pursue God’s Purpose for your life
again. Do not allow the fears of what you will eat or wear rob you and the
generations from the greatness God has deposited in you. “Do not worry about
your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.
Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the
birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your
heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they.”(Mat
6:25).
Instead of walking in
dominion and living a purpose driven life, many people are merely surviving
because of fear. They are afraid to do that which God has called them to do
because of their daily bread. Remember “the just shall live by faith”(Heb.
10:38). May you dream again, may any forgotten dreams in your life come back to
you.
In Jesus name may you
move from a survival mode into Dominion and Fruitfulness, as you dwell in the
presence of God (Eden) through Prayer and obedience to His word. You shall no
more work to merely survive; you will work to fulfill your God given purpose
and make a trans-generational impact. Arise! Arise!! Arise!!! Be loosed
from fear, walk in faith and fulfill your destiny, all creation is awaiting
your manifestation.
